"Man, Fox, I thought you were living here, not just sleeping here. Learn to eat, buddy."
Fox turned his head, looking over to her with quizzical eyes. "What?" he asked, almost flatly, one ear flicking in her direction. "What are you meaning?" And then he remembered just how skinny he had been before even moving in with her (the result of skipping a lot of meals so his children could eat at every one), not to mention the fact that he skipped a lot of meals now (simply because he forgot or thought he was too busy to give time to it). His metabolism probably hadn't adjusted to the fact that he had food now, anyway.
"Oh..." The anthro smiled sheepishly, and both ears pinned back in embarrassment. "Being... being sorry. Am needing to eat more, yes."
Then, she asked the question about Wolf.
"...is good question," he said after a moment, obviously a bit displeased by this revelation-- though not at her, at Wolf. "Was always knowing he was greedy, but..."

At his promise to eat more, Tori nodded, resting her chin on his shoulder as she wrapped the bandages around his chest. This really wouldn't do much; there wasn't much one could actually do for bruised ribs. But it would remind him that they were injured, and that he was to be careful. Also, it would keep him from breathing too deeply, which would also help it heal just a bit faster.
Once the bandages around his torso were secure, she leaned back, resting on her heels. Her eyes roamed his back; the wounds weren't bad enough to require any sort of bandaging. They were shallow and small, and Tori was sure the alcohol she had dabbed would be enough to kill whatever germs might have snuck inside. With a nod, she rolled down his shirt.
Tori then rocked so her weight was on the balls of her feet, so she was sitting up straight. She leaned over, brushing the back of Fox's headfur from his scalp, and winced.
"Fox... Man, did he hit you with his gun or-- Actually, I don't wanna know." She shook her head. Tori grabbed the cloth again, turning it to a clean section, and gently dabbed at the wound, apologizing with every touch. Once that was done, she dabbed it dry, then let his hair fall back into place.
"You're mostly bruised back there," she told him, shifting so her face was closer to his, instead of the back of his head, "Obviously, there's a cut, but it's not too deep, and it's already stopped bleeding. If you take it easy, I can avoid shaving you bald and placing some bandages there." Her eyes twinkled playfully, and Tori leaned over to touch her lips to his shoulder before putting her first aid kit back into the box.

Fox was quiet the rest of the time she patched him up, simply gazing over his shoulder every now and then, unable to help the small smile that graced his maw. He was unused to having someone able to patch him up like this; the closest he'd gotten to this sort of care in a long time was Krystal slapping bandages on whatever cuts he occasionally got. He counted himself lucky neither he nor the kids had ever broken any bones.
As he sat, the anthro contemplated. He had never thought-- not in a million years-- that he and his "bro"ship with Tori would ever evolve into this. Not with his wife, but then again... he had never expected her to be devoured. It almost made him twitch, that thought, because...
What if something was to happen to Tori?
It seemed like life just liked to tear things away from him, just when he was beginning to get happy. First his father, then his mercenary career (practically his whole life to begin with), then his wife... He didn't know what he'd do if it ripped away Tori, too.
". . .If you take it easy, I can avoid shaving you bald and placing some bandages there."
Fox looked up, smile returning when she kissed his shoulder, opposite hand reaching up to place his fingers on the spot her lips had touched. Best not to worry about it now, he guessed. Best not to concern her or even himself with these morbid thoughts. The anthro stood gingerly, trying not to mess with the bandages she had applied or his bruised ribs.
"Thanking you, Tori," he murmured, tail swishing. "Not knowing where I would be without you."

Still sitting on the floor, Tori smiled up at him. She reached over, packing away the rest of the kit, before forcing herself to stand. She touched her hand to the side of his face gently.
"Without me?" She asked, eyes twinkling playfully, "Without me, you'd be rooming somewhere with Falco. Or worse, Wolf. But at least then you'd get to find out where he stashes all the food he refuses to share." Tori turned to the cabinets, sliding the kit back into its proper place.
Once it was safe, out of sight from Marissa or Jeremy, Tori shut the cabinet and turned to face Fox, leaning against the counter briefly. "Which I don't get, actually. You would think he was stocking up for the winter... But wolves don't hibernate."She grinned at the thought, pushing off of the counter to walk over to him.
"You think you're okay enough for me to call Falco and have him bring the kids over?" She asked, moving so she was beside him. "I can tell them you had a hard day, if you wanna go ahead and go to sleep. They've got to get ready for school tomorrow, anyways." Her eyes glanced over his thin form again, softened.

Fox couldn't help but chuckle at her reply, and his smile became joking again, his entire posture lighter, less serious in tone. He just wasn't the type to stay serious for long.
"Is true," he said, musingly, green eyes glinting. "Foxes are not hibernating, either, but we are staying inside and sleeping much more. And even Fox is not hoarding food like Wolf is, as is being obvious." Here, he gestured down to himself, his skinny shape being much more evident without the trench coat on over his shirt. "Speaking of Winter... Fox and children will be growing thicker fur soon. May... may be wanting to stock up on lint rollers for Spring."
"You think you're okay enough for me to call Falco and have him bring the kids over? I can tell them you had a hard day, if you wanna go ahead and go to sleep. . . ."
One ear cocked, and he nodded after a moment, smile softening. "Is sounding good," he murmured. Cautiously, he reached out, cupping her cheek in his hand before pressing his forehead to hers. "Thanking you, again, Tori. Seeing you in morning."

Fox mentioned a winter coat, and Tori immediately cringed - though it was mostly just to make fun. "Well I'm thanking whatever god is up there that I'm not allergic to fur, otherwise I might be needing to stock up on allergy meds as well as lint rollers. Oh, this place is gunna be fun around spring."
She shook her head, smiling lightly at the thought. Her house - or rather, the house the were going to be living in come spring - was going to be one giant furball. And the odd thing was... She wouldn't have it any other way.
Fox reached up, cupping her cheek, and Tori let her smile widen. Reaching up, she placed her hand over his, letting their fingers intertwine for a brief second. "Sleep well, Fox," she murmured, tilting her head back so she could touch her lips to his nose again, "I love you."
