Cyan watched, sort of saddened, reminded that he didn't even have adoptive parents. But he kept the smile; this was just too perfect.
Jolteon relaxed, eyes closing.
Cy nodded at Mewtwo. "Yes, sir. Cyan. It's an honor to meet you."

"As it is a pleasure to meet you, Cyan." Mewtwo nodded his head, letting his hand rest on the small of ali's back before nudging her forwards, like a father would his nervous daughter. She stumbled one step, then turned her head to glare at him. He wagged his finger.
Then, he glanced back at Cyan, "I have heard great things about you, Cyan, through the rings of the battlers we associate with. You and your team are strong." He nodded over at Jolteon. Espeon swished her tail, as if claiming her for her own, and Mewtwo wasn't allowed to even glance that way. He chuckled. "Relax, Espy."

Jolteon's eyes stayed closed, lost in his own moment. He did, however, hear Mewtwo say Cyan's team was strong, and had to smile, knowing that meant him, too. He relaxed against Espy, putting a paw on her back as if to say 'I'm not going anywhere.'
Cy felt like he was floating. Honestly, he didn't think he was more than average. People said he was strong, but from someone like Mewtwo, it carried a lot more weight. Buzz and Scar obviously heard the compliment, because they were suddenly out of their Pokeballs, Scar on Cy's right, Buzz on his left. They were smiling as well.
As for Flare, he stayed in the Pokeball. After all, he didn't even like to battle. He'd been in one or two, but only won maybe one. He preferred sitting on the sidelines with Cyan, or helping take care of injuries after a battle. So, Mewtwo couldn't have meant the comment at him. Flare weak... he thought to himself inside the safety of his Pokeball.

Mewtwo heard the quiet thoughts of the child Pokemon and looked at Cyan. With one finger, he pointed to the Pokeball that contained the Magby, and then motioned for Cyan to hand it over.
"May I speak to the child?" He asked, his voice quiet but firm. He wanted to speak with the smallest member of the pack, to tell him that even he mattered. "I promise, I will not hurt him."

"Flare?" he asked, handing over the Pokeball. Inside his mind, he was a little worried. Not that he'd be hurt, but that maybe there was something about Flare Cy didn't know. He knew Flare hated to fight, and respected that. But the little Magby meant the world to him, just like the rest of the team.
Inside the ball, the Magby was afraid, alone. So, when the ball was still in Cy's hand, he popped out. He just stood there, between his master and his new boss. What...what's going on? Flare scared....

Mewtwo took the Pokeball, even though Flare had already popped out of it. With a gentle look in his eyes, the psychic Pokemon knelt, so he could be as close to eye-level as was possible with the little Magby. He reached out, placing a hand on the Pokemon's shoulder.
<Don't be afraid,> Mewtwo said, his words meant for only Flare to hear, <I am not going to hurt you. I am Mewtwo. I only wish to talk to you, little one. Nothing more, nothing less.>

Cy watched, trusting Mewtwo. He was really in awe at the scene. It was touching. He glanced over at Ali, still smiling.
Flare relaxed a little, and nodded. Though, he noticed Mewtwo had his Pokeball. He looked back at Cyan, having no clue what was going on. Cyan wasn't giving him away, right? Cy loved him too much. Didn't he?

Orange moved over towards Cyan, placing her hand on his shoulder. She watched her father as he spoke with the other Pokemon, then looked at her new friend. "He's good with children." She murmured, nodding her head slightly. There was a look in her eye that clearly showed she knew exactly how well he worked with them.
Mewtwo smiled, his eyes brightening. <Now, what's this I hear about you believing you are weak? From what I see, you're a valuable asset to this team, and all of your friends love you very much.>

Cy nodded. "I can tell. Flare's never let a stranger--pokemon and human alike--touch him like that. Usually he'd be clinging to my leg right now." He chuckled. "Flare's special."
Cy's words made Flare's eyes sparkle, then he answered Mewtwo. Flare no like to fight. Flare little... Then, his 'tone' got brighter. Cyan love Flare anyway. And Flare love Cyan. Love friends. Flare weak because can't help...

Orange smiled, resting her elbow against his shoulder and leaning against him slightly. She let her eyes soften, and the young woman smiled, "He has a way with letting children know he means no harm. I think... I think it's just something about him. For all his powers, he really is a gentle soul to the children. And I think the children - and Flare - realize that."
Mewtwo shook his head at Flare's last comment. <You are not weak, Flare. You may not battle, but that doesn't mean you are weak. I do not fight, not unless I absolutely have to, and yet no one considers me weak. I can see what you mean to this team; I can see how you help them whenever they are injured. That is your strength, little one.>

Cy nodded. "I see what you mean. That's a great quality to have."
Flare smiled, well, mostly with his eyes. No have fight to be strong? Flare like that. Flare like Mewtwo. He looked at him, very childlike.
Cyan smiled even more.

Mewtwo smiled, nodding his head. <Thank you, Flare. That means a lot to me.> He gently squeezed the small Pokemon's shoulder, <Now, I don't want you to ever think that you're weak, because you're not. Can you do that for me?>
Ali smiled over at her father, "I love him." She said, shrugging her shoulders. "He loves the children; he's great with them, and... He's just a good guy. I know a lot of assume he's a monster, but he's not. Then again, not many people get to see what I see. You, on the other hand, do."

Flare nodded. Flare Promise. He then walked over to Cyan, affectionately hugging his leg .
Cyan patted his head. "I understand," he told Ali. It'd been a really good day today. And it'd only just begun.

As soon as Flare had toddled back over to his master, Mewtwo stood. He straightened out his suit, glanced over at his daughter; Ali nodded, eyes sparkling. He had done well, really well. But then again, he was Mewtwo after all.
"We just had to talk," he said, as he gave the Pokeball back to Cyan, "everything is fine now, don't worry." The psychic gave Flare another smile, then glanced over at his adopted daughter. Ali scurried over, so she could lean against his side.

"I understand. Thank you," he said respectfully. He called Flare back, who happily returned into his Pokeball, which Cy put on his belt.
Jolt, meanwhile, had fallen asleep next to Espy, snoring lightly.
