Ty sat at a table, sipping a Ghost House Special. He had one every time he visited. All it was was a tall glass filled with vanilla ice cream and filled with the alcohol of your choice. Ty's poison was...honestly he just told the bartender to use his own judgment the first time. Ever sense, Ty's ordered the usual.
He listened to the heavy-metal music, loving the atmosphere. He wore his usual green shirt, black pants and shoes, and his hair was messy. His icy blue eyes scanned the room.

The world we knew Won't come back The time we've lost Can't get it back The life we had Won't be ours again Ballari had just come from an audition. The bar she was currently at was threatening to cut her wages if she didn't up her hours, so she was currently looking for a new job. She hadn't quit the bar yet, but if she managed to get the job here, then she definitely would. This place was offering a better salary with even better hours. If she got the job. Tugging her coat tighter around her, Ballari started towards the bar. She took a seat towards the corner, and ordered a regular beer. She wasn't here to get drunk, just a job. But grabbing a beer or two wasn't going to kill her. Well, it might, if she ever went onto her second job drunk, but she often stopped before ever getting that close.

Ty didn't notice anyone around him, he was too into his drink. He waved to the waitress, who brought him his third Special. Hey, it was his night off. He deserved to relax every now and then. He downed it, the alcohol settling in. It was then that he payed more attention to his fellow customers.
He wasn't looking for a lay; he was just more of a people person when drunk. He sat at the bar, next to a girl. "Hey, don't see you here often. You new?" he slurred, though in a more friendly than flirty tone.

Ballari realized almost immediately that the man sitting next to her was on his way to Drunksville, if he wasn't there already. However, he didn't seem to want anything more than a casual conversation, so she managed to give him a smile. He seemed all right, and they were in a crowded bar. If push gave to shove... Then she'd push.
Ballari raised a shoulder in a half shrug, keeping her smile on her face, "I've been here once or twice, if that's what you're asking. I came here today to try to find a job. But, no, I don't frequent here." She was trying to keep herself from giving too much away, and so far was doing a pretty good job at it.

Ty nodded shakily. "I come here on a day off every now and then. Juuust enough so the bartender knowsh what I mean by 'the ushual." He chuckled; he may have been a little...tipsy, but he wasn't one of those out of control drunks.
"Look. I want chu to knoooow. I may be drunk, but I pwomise I won't try anythin'...Ain't my style."

Apparently she was easier to read then most women, for the man quickly assured her that he wasn't going to try anything. For some reason, the word of a drunk eased her mind, and she sighed slightly. A smile formed on her lips. "Thanks," she murmured, nodding her head, "Not that I thought... Never mind."
She turned back to her drink, her face burning red at the embaressment her words held. She hadn't meant to insinuate anything with her words or thoughts... It was just that she knew that game, and she knew it well. It was better to be safe then sorry.

"Just lettin' yas know," he said, smiling. He looked away, and almost fell out of his seat. He steadied himself and laughed.
The bartender leaned in and whispered to the girl. "He's okay. He comes here every now and then. Never had a problem out of him. Actually, he's just a lot more social drunk."

Ballari nodded towards the bartender, smiling slightly, "Thanks," she murmured, then turned back to Ty. She reached up, rubbing the back of her neck. "I'm, um... I'm sorry. I just... Well, I'm not exactly normal. But none of us are, huh?" At this, she gave a little laugh, though it was slightly forced.
Her eyes raked over the bar, then moved back to Ty; softened. "So what's your name, huh? Surely even someone as 'harmless' as you must have one." This time, a real smile tugged at the corners of her lips. She just barely managed to push it away.

The bartender nodded then went about his work.
Ty shook his head. "Normal died when the kingdom went to hell," he said finally, starting to relax. "Call me Ty," he said.
He looked around the bar; this really didn't look to be his scene. It was more of a dark atmosphere, with heavy metal music blaring. But they had good drinks. And for once, someone who'd chat with him. So he wasn't complaining. "Yooou got a name?"

She smiled lightly at his question, nodding her head once. "Ballari," she answered quietly, bringing her beer up to drink. After a sip, she added on, "But you can call me Bal if you want. It's probably easier on your tongue."
She knew how much trouble some of the people had with her name, which was just one of the reasons why she always told her customers to call her by a different name. That and, because Ballari wasn't a common name, she couldn't let someone use it to find her or her son. She wouldn't put him in danger like that.

"Bal," he repeated. "Very pretty name. It fits you." Normally, he'd have blushed, but drunk, he smiled. "Just a compliment. Not trying anything. I promise."
He looked around, the bartender nodded at Ballari, then Ty passed out, flat on his face as he fall from the stool. The bartender snorted. "That's new...for him, anyway."

Ballari was just about to thank the stranger when he passed out, flat on his face. For a moment she tensed, unsure what to do, and the bartender spoke. She glanced over, her eyes worried, and then back to the unconscious male. Ballari wanted to help; she really did. But for her to help, she was going to have to actually get close to the guy. As in lifting him up and dragging his ass out of the room.
Darn her maternal instincts.
She slid out of her seat, placing a few coins on the bar for the bartender, and then knelt down. Gently, she grabbed his wrist and lifted his arm, pulling it so it was around her shoulders. Grunting with the effort of dragging dead weight, she began to try to get him to wake up.
"C'mon, Ty... Stand for me, at least. Just get your feet under you. You're heavy..."

He grunted, sort of standing, but of course had no clue where he was. He tried to walk, but wasn't doing very well. "Ahm oookay..." he groaned, slurring badly. "Shoooulda laid off that Fifth Special..."
When they got outside, he fell again, this time, a pouch fell from his belt--one he'd forgotten to put away when he changed out of his Shy Guy gear tonight. It was a small, brown sack, filled with megavitamin bottles, addressed to the aliases used by the Shy Guys who bought the pills to sell. On the bag, in a slightly lighter shade of brown, was the word "Slick."

Ballari helped the man out of the bar, stumbling clumsily with every other step she took. She knew she should have been doing better; she was used to dealing with drunks. Or at least she should have been by then. But she just couldn't seem to get her feet under her, or straighten her back out. Something was off with her.
And then Ty stumbled, slipping from her grasp to fall onto the ground.
Immediately, Ballari fell to her knees, so she was kneeling beside him. She immediately began to throw out apologies left and right. This was her fault; she knew it was her fault for being unable to hold onto him. She was supposed to be helping him, anyways.
The dark haired Shy Guy started to grab up all that he had dropped, freezing when she saw the pouch. She recognized the style as soon as her eyes spotted it.
"OhDearSweetJesus, you're a Shy Guy..."
Immediately, she felt fear start to build up.

" OhDearSweetJesus, you're a Shy Guy... " That sobered Ty up right then and there. He popped up, cluthching the sack, the name "Slick" clearly showing before he put it on his belt, under his shirt. He sighed, shaking as he stood to his feet. "Look...don't tell anyone. If word of this gets out...Please, I don't like the job, but I need it. Bills gotta be paid, Yoshis taken care of. Breedin's a tough business....please...."
